The Rent-A-Center (NASDAQ:RCII) Make-A-Difference Scholarship Program has begun accepting applications at the company’s website. $60,000 will be awarded to 60 high school and undergraduate students across the US.
Those who are eligible include customers and employees at any Get It Now, Home Choice, AcceptanceNOW, and Rent-A-Center Franchising. Applications are being accepted until February 1, 2018.
The Make-A-Difference Scholarship Program is in partnership with Scholarship America®, the US’s leading nonprofit scholarship and educational support organization.
Those who are awarded will have to complete their first undergraduate degree at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, vocational school, or technical school in the United States or Puerto Rico.
Winners will be announced April 2018 and scholarships will be awarded in August.
Rent-A-Center has donated over $730,000 to students through the Make-A-Difference Scholarship since its establishment in 2004.
“Supporting and empowering our customers, their children and our co-workers’ children is an investment in our future,” said Gina Hethcock, Rent-A-Center’s senior public and community relations manager. “Our goals are to help students get a step ahead and give back to our customers and coworkers for their loyalty and support.”
