Biggest Cannabis Gainers: Marijuana stocks are increasing investor’s confidence in 2018 amid new laws and increasing demand from all over the globe. U.S. and Canadian marijuana producers have been investing robustly in growth opportunities to capitalize on escalating demand. Analyst’ forecasts indicate marijuana industry sales to hover around $25 billion in the next five years, up from almost $8 billion at present.   

The U.S. marijuana index has also been making considerable moves driven by increasing investments and confidence from retail and institutional investors. The index rose almost 20% last month, and the index has extended the momentum into this month.

Biggest Cannabis Gainers

General Cannabis (OTCQB:CANN) is among the stocks that are leading the bull-run. CANN stock rose close to 96% last month alone. General Cannabis stock is up 180% in the previous six months.

The company’s aggressive investments in key U.S. marijuana markets, including California and Nevada, are likely to generate significant marijuana production.

Michael Feinsod, Executive Chairman of General Cannabis, stated, “I am excited as we enter mid-2018 well capitalized and ready to take advantage of not only the organic growth in the cannabis industry, but also an increasing number of acquisition opportunities.”

CV Sciences (OTCQB:CVSI) is the second largest gainer in the U.S. marijuana industry last month. Its stock price grew 60% last month, extending the six-month rally to 350%. Its stock is currently trading around $1 a share – with the market cap of $95 million. The company reported year over year sales growth of 114% for the first quarter of this year.

Canada based Aurora Cannabis (OTCQX:ACBFF), and Canopy Growth (OTCPK:TWMJF) is also among the prominent gainers. Both companies have made substantial investments in growth opportunities in order to capitalize on an increasing demand. Aurora has completed several significant acquisitions in the last couple of quarters, and the company has recently announced its intention to acquire MedReleaf.
